Head Softball Coach - Kelly Golden

Kelly Golden begins her fourth season as head coach for the Lakers. Golden attended Edgewater High School where she played volleyball, soccer and softball. She then continued to Lake City Community College on a softball scholarship and received her A.A. After that, Kelly went to Lee University and continued her softball career and received her Bachelor’s in Physical Education.

While at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., Golden was first-team All-Southern States Athletic Conference and All-Region in 2005 and '06. She also was SSAC Player of the Year, second-team NAIA All-American and first-team National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American in '05. Golden will also be LSCC's sports information coordinator.

Golden also has worked with former United States softball Olympian Dr. Dot Richardson with the ProFastpitch X-Treme Softball Tour. She worked for the tour as its activities coordinator.

Assistant/Pitching Coach - Bob Pinto  

Bob Pinto begins his first season at Lake-Sumter Community College.  He comes to LSCC with 29 years of softball experience.  He has coached at all levels from 12-under travel ball to NCAA Division I.  He helped lead the 2003 18-under Dot’s Diamonds to the NSA National Championship in Rock Hill, South Carolina. 

He also toured with the Professional Fastpitch X-treme tour as the National Site Director from 2006 - 2008.  Bob is married to Dot Richardson and resides in Clermont, FL.

Assistant Softball Coach - Amber Williams

Amber Williams is a Lake County native. She was a starter for Leesburg High School’s varsity softball team for four years as their pitcher and first baseman. Amber was also a member of the volleyball team for three years. After high school, Amber received a scholarship

to pitch for LSCC from 2006-2008, where she earned her AA degree. She will attend UCF in the fall to major in elementary education so she can continue to coach local softball as well as teach. This is Amber’s second year coaching at the college level. Her prior coaching experience includes local city league and travel ball teams during her two years playing for LSCC. Currently, Amber is also the pitching coach for Eustis High School.

Assistant Softball Coach - Stuart Sachs

Stu Sachs, recently retired to the Villages and starts his second year as an assistant coach at Lake-Sumter. Sachs comes from South Florida where he worked at Florida International University in the athletic department. While, at FIU Stu started the fastpitch softball program as a club team in 1992. In 1998, the sport was elevated to an Intercollegiate Division I sport at the school. Stu held many positions with the team including assistant coach and director of softball operations until his retirement.

During his 40 years in South Florida, the Brooklyn, NY native coached youth T-Ball and softball in the area. Stu and Barbara Hansen reside in the Villages and have five grandchildren.
