Rachel Bruce

This will be Rachel Bruce’s first year as the head volleyball coach at Lake-Sumter Community College. Coach Bruce, who is from the Lake County area, has been involved in volleyball for over ten years as both a player and a coach. In high school Bruce starred on the Umatilla High School volleyball team for two seasons before going on to play for Christian Home and Bible School in Mount Dora, FL.  Bruce continued her volleyball career as a player on the Lake-Sumter Community College volleyball team where she was ranked 5th in the nation for the NJCAA in hitting percentage.  During both of her seasons at LSCC, the Lady Lakers competed at the state tournament and placed second in their conference.  After two successful years at Lake-Sumter, Bruce went on to play for King College in Bristol, TN. At King College, Bruce led her team to two conference titles, one regional title, and an appearance at the NAIA National Championships.  After a very competitive college career, Bruce switched gears and began as the assistant coach at Lake-Sumter community college.  During her time as the assistant coach, Bruce completed her Masters Degree in Sports and Fitness from the University of Central Florida.  Bruce also served as a head coach for the Lake County Juniors Volleyball Club.

Assistant Volleyball Coach
Emily McCall

Emily is in her first year as assistant coach with LSCC. Emily Played nine years for Indian River Juniors Volleyball Club. She also played Varsity for Sebastian River High School all four years securing four district titles and the all time assist record for a single season and for a career. Emily then went on to play for one year at LSCC where she was named first team All State. Emily also has been coaching with Lake County Juniors for the past two years.

Assistant Volleyball Coach
Luiz Costa
 Luiz Costa was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  He played soccer at Tavares High School, then continued on to the University of Kentucky at Campbellsville for two years, and Warner Southern College for one. Costa then played Middle Blocker for Warner Southern College Men's volleyball team for 2 years. Luiz has coached volleyball camps at the University of Florida and Florida Southern College. He Recently graduated from Warner Southern with a Masters in Business Administration.
